The TikTok user, Sabrina Chakici, shared her story about how her new laptop got seriously damaged during the trip. She usually uses her laptop during the flight and then puts it in the seatback pocket in front of her.
Laptop cracked in the seatback pocket
- I placed the laptop in the pocket where the safety leaflets are. I've always done this – Sabrina explained in her TikTok video. This time, however, the passenger in front of her repeatedly reclined and folded the seat. - The pressure caused the screen of my laptop to crack – she added.
She showed the damaged equipment, noting that the screen is now completely black and unresponsive. - I didn't think this could happen, but now I see that it was inevitable. When someone reclines the seat, pressure is applied to the pocket, which can damage the equipment inside – she warned.
The traveler's case should be a warning to others
Numerous comments appeared under her video. Some expressed sympathy, while others advised keeping the laptop in the overhead compartment during take-off, landing, and turbulence.
- If even one person avoids this mistake because of this video, it was worth it – Sabrina replied to one of the users.
The portal Express.co.uk reports that Sabrina's case may serve as a warning to other travellers not to place valuable items in aeroplane seat pockets.
