Kremlin signals nuclear intent: New missile test spurs tension
A day after the launch of a ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear payload over the Dnieper, the Kremlin spokesperson made a statement. Dmitry Peskov suggested that it was a signal sent to the United States. He expressed hope that the US understood the mentioned "signal".
Much of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
"We are in no doubt that the current administration in Washington has had the chance to familiarise itself with this announcement and understand it," said Peskov when asked by journalists about Thursday's incident.
Attack with a new missile. Russia warned the USA
"I can confirm that Russia did launch an experimental intermediate range ballistic missile. This IRBM was based on Russia's RS-26 Rubezh intercontinental ballistic missile model", stated Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh on Thursday.
Referring to Putin's remarks about Russia having the right to strike targets in nations supporting Ukraine, Singh conveyed that the United States takes these threats seriously, but they will not deter them from helping Ukraine.
