Trump edges ahead in battleground states amid global conflicts

In this recent public opinion poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump, representing the Republicans, garnered more support than the Vice President and Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris. This advantage is linked to his stance on the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
According to the poll results, Trump and Harris received comparable support in seven key states that may prove decisive in the November presidential elections. The survey indicates that Harris holds a slight, two-point lead in Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan, while Trump has a six-point lead in Nevada and a one-point lead in Pennsylvania. In North Carolina and Wisconsin, both sides are tied.

When analysing the stance towards the two armed conflicts separately, in the seven swing states, Trump has a 50 to 39 per cent advantage over Harris in terms of handling the situation in Ukraine and a 48 to 33 per cent lead regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Another poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos on the same day indicates that, on a national level, Trump and Harris are in close competition, with Harris holding a slight lead at 46 to 43 per cent.
On economic and immigration issues, Donald Trump has gained greater trust from respondents, while Kamala Harris is preferred in areas related to housing and healthcare.
