Trump and Musk posters spark controversy in Belgrade

On Monday, posters appeared in Belgrade, Serbia's capital, with the slogan "Make Serbia great again." They depicted U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and his associate, billionaire Elon Musk.

The right-wing organisation Naszi, inspired by a Russian group of the same name, printed and put up the posters.

In addition to the images of Trump and Musk, the posters also featured a map of the so-called Greater Serbia—a concept supported by local nationalists that united Serbs from Serbia and neighbouring countries.

The Association of Electronic Media of Serbia emphasizes that these actions could increase national tensions and advises careful handling of historical topics in public discourse, particularly in the multi-ethnic Balkans region.

On Sunday, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke with the winner of the U.S. elections. Vučić invited Trump to Serbia, publicly announcing that it was the country where support for his election was the highest in Europe.

During the same call, Elon Musk, an American billionaire associated with Trump, also participated, as revealed by President Vučić on Monday.
