A man and his 4-year-old daughter have died, and three other people were injured during a Russian air raid on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, Ukrainian rescue services reported on Sunday morning.

Russia carried out an air attack on Kyiv, and air defence systems were engaged in repelling this strike, reported the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Witnesses cited by Reuters said they heard at least two explosions, which sounded like air defence systems engaging enemy objects.

The man and his 4-year-old daughter were killed, and three people were injured. According to rescue services on the Telegram channel, among the injured is a 13-year-old child.

"Kyiv is preparing decisions that will limit Russia's actions"

Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Saturday that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrski, briefed him on the "current situation at the front, actions, and pushing the war onto the aggressor's territory."

The Ukrainian president emphasised that Ukraine is proving that it can truly restore justice and apply exactly the pressure that is needed.

Zelensky announced that Kyiv is "preparing decisions that will limit Russia's actions." He thanked the soldiers fighting at the front and the United States for the new military aid package.

- We are eagerly awaiting decisions on long-range missiles - from the United States, the United Kingdom, and France - decisive decisions that will bring a just peace closer – said the Ukrainian leader.

Ukrainian forces entered Russia's Kursk region on Tuesday, where fighting continues to this day. As a result, over 76,000 people have been evacuated from Russian border areas with Ukraine, local authorities reported.

Ukraine does not comment on these events, but Zelensky stated on Thursday that it was Russia that brought the war to Ukraine, and Russia should feel it.
