Tips for a longer-lasting Christmas tree experience
Some people have already begun searching for the perfect Christmas tree. Once you've decided on a specific tree, it's worth ensuring it lasts as long as possible in your home. Fortunately, it's easier than it seems.
The Christmas tree is undoubtedly one of the symbols of Christmas. Both children and adults love it, and decorating it brings great joy to everyone. It's no surprise that in many homes, it appears as early as the beginning of December. What can be done to enjoy it for several weeks? Find out below.
Trim the tree. You'll thank yourself later
When buying a Christmas tree, keep in mind that it may have been cut several weeks earlier. Unfortunately, this might mean it won't last as long as we'd like. However, there's a simple way to remedy this.
It's enough to trim the trunk a bit before placing it in the stand. Then, you should make two or three holes in it, placed at equal intervals. For this, a drill with a thick bit will be useful. It's important to remember that the holes should be about 4 cm deep, allowing for better water absorption.
Finally, all that's left is to pour water into the stand and place the tree in your chosen spot. Still, it's worth remembering to water it regularly.
A mixture to strengthen the needles
Sometimes the tree we've chosen loses its needles at an alarming rate. It turns out there's a way to prevent this, using products found in almost every home.
In 500 ml of water, dissolve 1 tablespoon of sugar. With this mixture, simply water the tree, and you're done. Sugar contains many nutrients that will strengthen our tree. Placement is also significant; Christmas trees do not like high temperatures, so it's better not to place it near a radiator.
