Imagine discovering a stain on your favourite dress with little time before you need to leave. Washing and drying could take too long, and the fabric may still be damp even after spinning. Instead of reaching for the dryer, try a trick with the washing machine—your clothes will quickly dry!

Can you dry clothes in a washing machine?

Drying clothes using traditional methods can be frustrating. Hanging them on a drying rack means several hours of evaporation and occupies the room. Water vapour often cannot escape, causing moisture on the walls and leading to mould. Hanging clothes on radiators blocks the flow of heat, increasing heating costs.

So, how can you avoid such problems? Most washing machines can help with faster drying. To do so, simply try a little trick with a towel.

How do you do it? After the wash cycle, add a dry towel to the drum and run the spin cycle alone. The thick, terry material will absorb some water, making your clothes much less damp. It's worthwhile to hang them up near an open window, allowing the moisture to evaporate without hindrance.

Drying clothes on a rack - how to do it properly?

We often make mistakes when drying clothes. Clothes placed too closely on the drying rack and lack proper airflow can lead to moisture and mould in the house. When autumn and early winter come, we can use the balcony to dry clothes faster in the fresh air.

However, if you need to dry indoors, always position the drying rack in a room that is easily ventilated. Proper air circulation is the key to quick clothes drying. Wet laundry will no longer be a problem with a simple trick involving a towel.
