The eyes of the whole world are turned towards Crocus City Hall in Moscow, where a terrorist attack has occurred. Some reports say the attackers may still be in the building, while others indicate they have fled. There are also reports of at least 62 people killed and over 140 injured. Authorities are bringing in special forces to the scene. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The SOTA service reported that Russian special services have begun storming the building, although it is not yet determined whether the attackers are still there. Social media has shown footage of armed officers dressed in bulletproof vests.

Authorities in Moscow have decided to cancel all mass events in the capital this weekend. The Nexta portal reported that concertgoers of rapper Dani Kashin were evacuated.

Following the actions of the Moscow authorities, the leaders of other locations have also taken steps. Centres in Petersburg have been evacuated. Security measures at airports and train stations have also been strengthened. Special police forces and the National Guard are being pulled into the capital to control the situation.

Meanwhile, the Baza service reports that four perpetrators have escaped the scene. These reports have not been confirmed. However, they could have changed clothes and blended into the crowd leaving the hall. There are also unofficial reports that the attackers might still be in Crocus City Hall.

No scenario can be ruled out at this special operation stage. Additional commando units are tasked with securing the area, evacuating civilians, and checking if the threat has passed. Reportedly, a white van with Ukrainian license plates was found at the scene. The media have also circulated supposed images of the attackers.

They appear to be citizens of one of the Caucasian republics, specifically Ingushetia. Authorities have not confirmed this; there are reports that the attackers are still fighting with special forces. Crocus City Hall is on fire, and civilians are reportedly still inside. The special operation continues and is unlikely to conclude quickly.

The death toll will certainly rise, as not everyone has received help yet.

Two weeks ago, a warning about the attack was issued

Independent Russian media note that two weeks ago, the American embassy in Russia was informing of a possible terrorist attack. It was indicated that the attack could occur during mass events, including concerts.

Vladimir Putin ignored these warnings, calling them "blackmail and an attempt to intimidate, destabilize" Russian society.
As reported by the Polish Press Agency, Ukrainian intelligence points out that the attack on the concert hall "is a deliberate provocation of Putin's regime, which the international community had warned against".
