Recipe for fried apples in jars

Ingredients:
- 4 kilograms of apples,
- 1 cup of sugar,
- 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon,
- juice from 1 lemon,
- 350-500 millilitres of water or apple juice,

Instructions:
- Preparing the apples: Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut them into small cubes. Drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Frying the apples: Place the cut apples into a thick-bottomed pot. Add half a cup of water or apple juice and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally. - Sterilising the jars: Thoroughly wash and scald the jars.
- Filling the jars: Transfer the hot apples into the sterilised jars. Screw on the lids tightly and set the jars upside down.
- Pasteurisation (optional): If you want to ensure that the preserves stay fresh longer, pasteurise the jars in a pot of water.
