Mathematics requires an understanding of numerous precise rules, along with logical and creative thinking. It's often seen as one of the most challenging school subjects.

Nonetheless, mathematical knowledge and logical thinking are integral to our lives, significantly influencing our daily routines. For many people, however, they are a tough nut to crack. It's not only children, but adults too, who often struggle with elementary level problems.

Despite these challenges, these puzzles are worth attempting. Mathematical and logical puzzles provide mental exercise, stimulate our brains, and offer an enjoyable, engaging way to spend spare time during the day.

An elementary level mathematical puzzle asking which signs to insert

Looking at a sequence of four digits, it's apparent that only the necessary mathematical symbols to create an equation are missing. At first glance, this puzzle doesn't appear overly complicated. Do you know which symbols to place between the threes in order to get a result of 6?

Stuck? Here's a hint. The most important factor here is remembering the correct sequence of operations. With this in mind, the puzzle should be manageable.

Remember, we perform mathematical operations in the following sequence: operations enclosed in parentheses are performed first, followed by multiplication or division, and finally, addition or subtraction.

The solution to the mathematical puzzle

Did you manage to solve the puzzle? Or do you need more time? Take another look at the digits and test different symbol configurations.

Curious about the answer? The correct solution is presented below:

7 - 7 / 7 = 6

Firstly, we perform the division operation, which gives us 1. This is due to 7 divided by 7 being equal to 1. Then we subtract 1 from 7, and we're done.

Were you able to solve this puzzle unaided? If so, congratulations are in order. Only 15 percent of people manage to solve it on the first attempt.
