Taylor Swift is currently the hottest pop music star (apologies to all Lady Gaga fans). Her concerts draw enormous crowds, so fans of the artist can expect significant upgrades to arenas and stadiums.

The world still hasn't forgotten about The Eras Tour. In fact, Taylor Swift's most extensive tour will be talked about for years as an event that substantially impacted how concerts are organised in the future. The biggest artists already have to contend with comparisons to the American star—this happened to Billie Eilish, who was criticised for a show that was "too short." Was it fair? Probably not, but the fact is, Taylor set the bar very, very high.
Numerous reports have been made regarding Swift's concerts, from the very accommodating behaviour of Argentinian airlines, which allowed fans to rebook tickets for free due to rescheduled concerts, to the record-breaking loud fans who caused seismic activity equivalent to a minor earthquake.
Swifties travelling worldwide for their idol are a financial boon, so it's no surprise that many countries strive to please them. After all, they contribute significantly to the local economy, booking hotels, dining at restaurants, or visiting museums. Perhaps that's why Rogers Centre in Toronto decided on a grand gesture—investing roughly £6.3 million into the stadium.
Better connectivity for Taylor Swift fans for only £6.3 million
Impressive, isn't it? But what is the investment for? Will it be new, comfortable seating? Better screens? More parking spaces? No, no, and once again, no. The stadium in Canada has allocated approximately £6.3 million for... a 5G network upgrade.
All of this is for fans who live stream the concert. It's remarkable, really, but is it necessary? Perhaps, if someone couldn't afford to attend the concert, at least they could follow it from the comfort of their own home in good quality...
