Despite the heavy rain and strong winds, the plane managed to land successfully on runway number 12 at Malaga Airport. The video, depicting the final moments of the landing, was recorded in the cockpit on Wednesday, 13th November of this year.
The pilot landed in difficult conditions
Due to the intense rain and fog, visibility during the landing was limited. As the plane descended closer to the airport tarmac, the camera panned to show the area surrounding the airport.
The nearby Guadalhorce River flooded the surrounding areas and came dangerously close to reaching the airport's tarmac. Some trees were largely underwater.
Under the video on social media, there were many questions about whether the person piloting the plane can use phones during landing and record it. It was quickly clarified that the author of the video is not the person piloting the aircraft, but another individual in the cockpit.
The situation in Malaga
During the latest bout of heavy rain at the start of the week, the highest possible red alerts were issued in Malaga and Valencia. The situation has significantly improved and is slowly returning to normal. After two days of closure, schools, universities, and other institutions in the Malaga province will resume operations.
The regional authorities, as well as meteorologists, are constantly monitoring the situation across the country.
