The museum, situated halfway between Vilnius and Riga, is an excellent stop to acquaint oneself with the works of Stasys, a Lithuanian artist creating in Poland since the 1980s.
Stasys is a renowned master in painting, graphics, photography, and set design. He also engages in screenwriting, directing, performance, installation making, and sculpture. The museum spaces aim to reflect his expansive creative world and diverse artistic techniques. Over an area of more than 1,000 square meters, encompassing three floors of the museum and an outdoor section, more than 1,000 works of the artist will be presented and donated to the museum by Stasys himself.
The panoramic terrace on the museum's rooftop offers an amazing view of the city and its surroundings. This space, covering an area of 325 square meters on the museum's top floor, is ideal for relaxing in the sun, resting, and planning the next stages of your journey.
Soon, a cinema will open on the museum premises, featuring independent and non-commercial films.
Lithuania. What else?
Lithuania has gained a new tourist attraction worth including in your travel plans. Besides well-known and frequently visited cities like Vilnius, Klaipėda, or Kaunas, it is also worth considering a visit to Panevėžys. It is the fifth largest city in Lithuania, with its first mentions dating back to 1503. In the 18th century, this place was the site of Polish-Swedish wars, which unfortunately devastated the city, leaving few monuments to our times. Despite this, you can still admire the Neobaroque St. Peter and Paul Church, which houses many Polish graves, some even older than the church itself. It is also worth seeing the Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Church, which dates back to the late 19th century.
