Spider scare at 30,000 feet: Pilot survives tarantula bite
There were dramatic moments during Friday's flight of an Airbus A320 from Iberia Airlines from Düsseldorf to Madrid. A venomous spider attacked The pilot onboard, and a tarantula bit the allergic man. Fortunately, he was quickly given medication, and the flight ended successfully.
According to the Metro portal, the incident occurred on Friday, February 21st, during an Airbus A320 flight operated by Iberia Airlines from Düsseldorf, Germany, to Madrid. A tarantula—a venomous, hairy spider that gives chills just by its appearance—was found in the cockpit of the aircraft.
Tarantula bit the pilot on the plane
It appears that the spider entered the plane during a stopover in Casablanca earlier that week. It made its way into the cockpit and bit the pilot. Because he was allergic to the spider venom, he required immediate medication. He was also administered medication to reduce inflammation and symptoms related to allergic reactions.
Luckily, the aircraft safely reached Madrid. However, passengers who were due to fly to Vigo on the same plane for the next flight had to wait for an additional three hours. The plane had to be disinfected to eliminate any bacteria that may have entered along with the small, hairy creature.
Despite this, the fear lingered, as passengers were reportedly still looking around anxiously to see if any other such creatures appeared onboard. Fortunately, everything ended well, and the pilot received treatment and is now feeling well.
