Washington opposes the use of the term "Russian aggression" in the group's official communiqué. Macron and Trump are also expected to hold a joint press conference.
Macron initiated the proposal to deploy European soldiers to Ukraine and secured Trump's support for this initiative. The discussions also include negotiations to resolve the conflict and security guarantees for Ukraine. Macron's official welcoming ceremony at the White House is scheduled for 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time.
The United Kingdom and France want to persuade Trump
According to "The Times," French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer plan to persuade Donald Trump to abandon talks with Russia.
