Serbian Olympian battles Instagram restrictions on shooting posts

The reason for Sanja Vukasinović's complaint is unusual. The Tokyo Olympian specializes in shooting, so her profile is filled with photos of rifles. The Serbian athlete complains that because of this, Instagram is limiting the visibility of her posts.

The petite Sanja Vukasinović is 26 years old. She is 1.6 metres tall and weighs 45 kilograms. Despite her small stature, a fighting spirit resides within her, which has helped her achieve success in shooting sports. She represented Serbia in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Sanja Vukasinović presents photos from her private life and shooting competitions on the social media platform Instagram. The talented sportswoman feels that she could attract more interest to her profile if the reach of her posts were not limited.

Sports like shooting are Olympic disciplines. They involve equipment that might be perceived as aggressive but honour qualities like precision and discipline. So why is even archery isolated and limited on this platform? - wonders Sanja Vukasinović.
Instagram's policy is pointless. By limiting the visibility of my posts, it not only affects the ability to share my passion and achievements but also undermines shooting as an Olympic discipline - adds the Serbian athlete.

The 26-year-old has not chosen a popular sport, so she pays attention to every opportunity to gain publicity in the media. She poses with promoted products in some photos, and the greater the number of followers and the reach of posts, the higher the potential earnings from advertisements.

Sanja Vukasinović did not qualify for the Paris Olympics, so she will be cheering for the Serbian team from her television.
