Russia demands NATO stance against Ukraine joining alliance
Aleksandr Grushko, the deputy head of Russian diplomacy, highlighted the "key element of potential agreements" concerning the war's end in Ukraine.
Many of the pieces of information provided by Russian media or representatives of the authorities are part of propaganda. Such reports are components of the informational conflict conducted by the Russian Federation.
- For us, this is a crucial element of potential agreements regarding the conflict in Ukraine and an element necessary for addressing the primary causes of this conflict. We will insist not only on firm legal guarantees preventing any membership of Ukraine in NATO, but we will also demand that the alliance itself endorses this policy - stated Grushko on Friday.
Trump wants urgent meetings. There is a reaction from Russia
On Thursday, Donald Trump called for an urgent meeting with Vladimir Putin. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded to these remarks. - The Kremlin will not comment further on statements by former US President Donald Trump regarding the desire for an "immediate meeting" with Russian leader Vladimir Putin - he stated.
- There is nothing to add to what we have repeatedly affirmed - he added.
Moscow, however, does not trust in the Ukrainian side's readiness for discussions. - Zelensky cannot be prepared to reach an agreement; otherwise, it would be more fitting to use the word "settlement." Because, to reach an agreement, negotiations must be undertaken, and Zelensky himself, by his decree, has prohibited negotiations with the president of Russia - he added.
At the same time, Peskov mentioned that Russia is ready for discussions on nuclear disarmament. - Moscow is ready to negotiate with Washington on nuclear disarmament issues, but the nuclear capabilities of the US allies - the United Kingdom and France - must also be considered - added Putin's spokesperson.
