Discovery on a plate: The unique flavour of Lviv salad
Salads are ideal not only for parties and family gatherings; they can also be packed for work or school lunches and enjoyed for dinner. Instead of preparing a typical vegetable salad, why not serve a Lviv salad?
If you're a fan of vegetable salads or enjoy herring, the Lviv salad will definitely appeal to you. It incorporates apples, onions, celery, and potatoes, common in vegetable salads, alongside herring, pickles, and beets, providing a completely new and unique flavour profile. Each bite is bursting with flavour, which complements rather than competes with one another to create a cohesive dish.
Lviv salad
The salad's main ingredient is herring, which, when combined with red beets, potatoes, pickles, and apples, creates an extraordinary flavour composition. All of this is enveloped in a creamy sour cream and mustard sauce, giving the dish a unique aroma. The salad looks visually appealing in the bowl, and the herring is not overpowering in smell.
Lviv salad is an exceptional traditional dish originating from Ukrainian cuisine. Thanks to its intense flavour and rich ingredients, it makes an excellent snack for parties or family events. The taste will delight guests, and there will be no shortage of requests for the recipe. It is said even to win over the most discerning of mothers-in-law.
