Apples, cream, and cookies—these three components can create an amazing dessert from our favourite category—sweets that don't require turning on the oven. The resulting apple Charlotte in glasses looks incredibly good and tastes excellent. The effect? You can expect lots of requests from guests to pass on the recipe.
Of course, you can still experiment with the recipe below. I traditionally add cinnamon to apples, but you can add cardamom or vanilla. I use walnuts, but you can opt for almonds or something entirely different. Either way, you'll be pleased with the result. You and—of course—your guests!
Apple Charlotte in Glasses
Ingredients:
- 5 sweet apples,
- 2 tablespoons of honey,
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice,
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon,
- about 300ml of 30% cream,
- about 100g of mascarpone cheese,
- 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
- about 300g of ground cookies,
- 3 tablespoons of ground walnuts.
How to prepare:
- Peel, wash and dice the apples. Transfer them to a pot, add cinnamon, honey, and lemon juice, and simmer for about 20 minutes. The apples are ready when they start to fall apart.
- Divide them into two equal parts and set aside to cool. Then, blend one portion of the cooked apples.
- Mix the cream and mascarpone cheese with the powdered sugar. Grind the walnuts and cookies.
- It's time to assemble the dessert. The apple charlotte in glasses is made as follows: First, put 2 tablespoons of cookies into the dish. Then add 2 tablespoons of apples, followed by the cream mixture. Add ground cookies again. Scoop some of the blended apple puree over them. Garnish the top with nuts.
- Chill the prepared apple charlotte in glasses in the fridge for about an hour and a half. Enjoy!
