He emphasised that Moscow and Washington are ready to establish cooperation.

He noted that not everyone in the West is satisfied with the revival of Russian-American relations.

The leader, who is wanted for war crimes, reiterated that certain Western elites remain committed to fostering global instability. He warned that these forces would attempt to obstruct or undermine the ongoing dialogue, emphasizing that this is already evident.

The leader asserts that Trump shows pragmatism and a realistic perspective by discarding many established stereotypes.

Putin argued that his predecessors' so-called principles and ideological doctrines ultimately contributed to a crisis in the entire international relations system.

The leader also added that the fighters of the "special military operation", through their courage and victories, "created the conditions to start a dialogue regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis and other crises."

Putin also ordered the strengthening of borders in "potentially dangerous" areas. He added that this measure is intended to protect residents in border settlements.

On Thursday morning, Russia announced that it would not return the territories it had seized from Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the territories incorporated into Russia are an undeniable reality and not open to negotiation. His remarks were in response to President Donald Trump's statement on Wednesday, in which Trump indicated that the United States would aim for Kyiv to reclaim some of the areas occupied by Russian forces as part of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
