To mark his residency commencement in the United States, Prince Harry specifically chose the day he was commanded by his father, King Charles, to vacate Frogmore Cottage. Royal analysts interpret this timing as his way of expressing dissatisfaction with the king's decision.

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made headlines by stepping down as senior members of the British royal family and relocating to the United States, sparking a phenomenon known as Megxit. This move has since generated significant debate and emotional reactions within and outside royal circles.

Last year, King Charles III decided to evict Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from Frogmore Cottage, much to the dismay of both Archie and Lilibet's parents.

A tabloid recently disclosed that Harry is officially a US resident, with documents showing his residency commenced on 29 June 2023. Intriguingly, this is the exact day he finalized his move from Frogmore Cottage at the bidding of the king.

Did Prince Harry resent King Charles for the eviction? Experts agree

The timing of Harry's residency start in the US suggests a deliberate choice, highlighting his displeasure with last year's eviction. A royal biographer told MailOnline about Harry's significant "irritation" towards Charles's action.

"King Charles was quite right to evict Harry from Frogmore, and not surprisingly Harry was irritated. He and Meghan thought they could have their cake and eat it," remarked Tom Bower, clearly critical of the couple.

"Unfortunately, the King did not go further and strip the Sussexes of their titles. That might have stopped their recent promotional splurge, exploiting their royal titles to earn money. Hopefully, when the King recovers he will reconsider his attitude towards the Sussexes and distance them further from the royal family’," he added.

The "Daily Mail" reports: "Prince Harry's decision to pinpoint the day he and Meghan were 'evicted' from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles as the date his US residency began points to 'irritation' with his father and that he won't return to the UK, royal experts told MailOnline today".

Additionally, royal author Angela Levin argues that Harry "should no longer be 'a Counsellor of State to stand in for the monarch should it be needed". According to UK law, those in this role must reside in the country.

Journalist Phil Dampier also weighed in on the eviction, noting its implications.

Charles and William recognized the necessity of the action to clarify that Harry and Meghan are beyond "the firm". Initially, the prince might have hoped to maintain a UK base. By choosing his residency date, he now accepts his life in the USA.

Will Prince Harry seek American citizenship?

Earlier this year, Markle's husband contemplated obtaining United States citizenship.

Recent scrutiny over the 39-year-old's visa documents, especially regarding past drug use, has sparked controversy. Donald Trump even expressed interest in the matter.
