It only takes a moment of inattention to over-salt soup. So, what should we do to save the dish and emerge from the situation unscathed?
A well-known potato might be the solution. Simply peel it, wash it, and then add it to the boiling soup. After about 15 minutes, the vegetable should absorb the excess salt. It's important, however, to remove it from the broth afterwards. A bag of rice works similarly.
Over-salted soup? There is a way to fix this
There are many ways to rescue over-salted soup. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best, although unfortunately, we often forget about them. This is one such case.
To improve the taste of over-salted soup, it's worth diluting it a bit by adding some water. However, be careful not to add too much, as you don't want to dilute other flavours.
Milk or sour cream also works well. They complement creamy or vegetable soups particularly well.
