The statement released Thursday evening said, "The Holy Father's clinical condition is slightly improving. "

The Vatican reported that the Pope has no fever and stable hemodynamic parameters. According to the statement, this means that the Pope's heart is responding well to the therapy used to treat bilateral pneumonia.

In the morning, the Pope received Holy Communion and continued working. It was added that despite being hospitalised, Pope Francis remains active and engaged in his duties.

There is no information on the Pope's possible return to the Vatican. The decision depends on the further course of treatment. The Vatican has yet to provide an expected discharge date.
