According to Reuters, the heavy rains that passed over Palma, the capital of Majorca, on Tuesday paralyzed the operations of the local airport, Son Sant Joan.

Spain's third-largest airport was forced to implement an emergency plan, and flights to Majorca were temporarily redirected to alternative airports.
However, later in the afternoon, information appeared on platform X, shared by Transport Minister Oscar Puente, stating that after the storm passed, the airport was resuming its activities. According to the statement, the first plane take-offs had resumed.
The national weather agency AEMET reported that rainfall at the airport reached nearly 2 inches per hour. During the most intense moments of the rain, the rainfall level reached 4 inches in less than an hour.
