Pamela Anderson embraces authenticity, earns Golden Globe nod
Pamela Anderson, the 57-year-old actress known from "Baywatch," admitted that she is surprised by the reaction to her decision to forgo makeup. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she discussed the reasons for her transformation.
"I wanted to peel it all back, to really check in with myself, to remember who I am and not what everybody else is telling me I am," Anderson said during the promotion of her new film "The Last Showgirl." "I just wanted to remember who I was. I mean, I've been playing characters my whole life. I want to play characters in movies, not in my personal life. I just want to be me!"
Since September 2023, when she appeared without makeup at Paris Fashion Week, Anderson has consistently showcased her natural look at official events. Recently, she impressed fans with her style at the screening of "The Last Showgirl" in West Hollywood on 8 December, where she appeared in a brown cashmere dress by Bottega Veneta. She was accompanied by other stars of the film, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song.
On 5 December, Anderson appeared without makeup at the IndieWire Awards 2024 ceremony in New York City, where she was nominated for her role in "The Last Showgirl." The actress wore an elegant navy gown with draping, black tights, and strappy sandals.
On 9 December, she received her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Dramatic Film for her role in a film directed by Gia Coppola. In a statement obtained by People magazine, Anderson wrote: "I share this beautiful nomination with The Last Showgirl Family, my family, and my hard working companions on this interesting journey. It is never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities — we are not all so lucky."
