  • The US elections will determine the kind of world we will live in over the next decades. Donald Trump made it clear that he does not feel obliged to respect Article 5 of NATO, said US President Joe Biden during a press conference concluding the NATO summit. The president made gaffes and linguistic slips in a performance meant to test his fitness for a second term.
  • Tragic news from the Slovak Tatra Mountains has been confirmed. 2 women died. The remaining 14 people have been evacuated.
  • On Thursday, in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, there was a confrontation between members of right-wing organisations and supporters of anti-fascist groups. The clashes were in connection with the 29th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. Information about these events was reported by N1 television. The right-wing organisation "Serbian Falcon" called on the residents of Novi Sad, located in northern Serbia, to gather and commemorate the "liberation of Srebrenica".
  • The Croatian State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ) reported that the entire territory of Croatia is under the highest weather alert due to exceptionally high temperatures on Friday. Croatia and the rest of the Balkan region have been facing another heatwave this summer since the beginning of this week. On Friday, temperatures are expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius. The red weather alert will also be in effect on Saturday.
  • The problem is also in Italy. In 11 cities, the highest heat alert is in effect on Friday. The Italian Ministry of Health has issued a red alert in Rome, Bologna, Campobasso, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Perugia, Pescara, Rieti, Trieste, and Viterbo. Five of these cities are in the capital region of Lazio. In the south, temperatures will reach 42 degrees Celsius. The country is experiencing the most intense heatwave since the beginning of summer, brought by the so-called African anticyclone. Severe heat will continue throughout July.
