North Korean troops bolster Russian front in Europe, warns Zelensky

He announced that the forthcoming week would involve "very active work with partners to support Ukrainian soldiers on the front and develop a strategy to pressure Russia to end the war."

South Korean intelligence reported recently that Pyongyang has sent approximately 3,000 soldiers to Russia's Far East, with a total of 10,000 expected by the year's end. The USA and several EU countries, including Poland and the Netherlands, have confirmed these findings.
On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that North Korean soldiers would soon be involved in the fighting in the Kursk region in western Russia, where Ukrainian forces have been operating since 6th August.
In response to these reports, in a Saturday speech, Zelensky urged allies to exert even more pressure on Russia and continue supporting Ukraine.
They will fight not only with Russians. Foreign troops are heading to the front
- Every day of the war shows that Moscow is determined to continue its aggression. They desire nothing else. That's why they are trying to circumvent sanctions to increase arms production, and that's why they have allied with North Korea, - said Zelensky.
- Within a few days, North Korean soldiers may find themselves on the battlefield. Ukraine will be compelled to fight them in Europe - he added.
Zelensky emphasised that the absence of a decisive Western response to the presence of more hostile troops on the European continent would only "encourage Putin to further invest in terror."
- The world can halt the escalation of the war. Words are insufficient; concrete steps are essential. We have documented them in the "victory plan". (…). We anticipate greater pressure on Russia. We anticipate increased support for Ukraine – concluded the Ukrainian president.
