A 21-year-old woman, a volunteer at the Paris Olympic Games, was found dead after the closing ceremony of the world's largest sporting event, reports the newspaper "Le Parisien". According to preliminary information, she was murdered by a man with whom she had been in a relationship for two years. After the murder, the suspect allegedly sent a horrifying message to her relatives.

On Monday evening in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, a young woman who had worked as a volunteer during the Olympic Games was found dead. According to reports from the French newspaper "Le Parisien", the woman's body was transported to a forensic medicine institute in Paris, where an autopsy will soon be performed. Preliminary findings showed a haematoma on the left side of the 21-year-old's head and a neck wound.

The mother of the 21-year-old victim reported her missing after the closing ceremony of the Games at the Stade de France on Sunday. During the search, it was determined that her mobile phone was located in the suburbs of Paris, in the Saint-Ouen area (Seine-Saint-Denis). The police distributed a description of the missing woman to all patrols in the region.

As reported by "Le Parisien" on Monday at 22:00 GMT, the victim's family informed officers that they had received a text message from the boyfriend’s relatives. He allegedly wrote to them that he had done "something stupid".

Paris. Police arrested the suspect

After receiving this information, the police visited the victim's apartment on Émile Blémont Street in Paris. At around 00:15 GMT, a tactical team entered the apartment and arrested the suspect, who was intoxicated.

According to French sources, the man tried to take his own life by taking drugs and drinking alcohol. He was in the same room as his deceased partner.

After the arrest, the man was taken to the hospital. As reported by "Le Parisien," on Tuesday morning, he was transferred to police custody at the headquarters of the Second Judicial Police District. The suspect's interrogation was postponed due to his health condition.

As "Le Parisien" writes, neighbours of the 21-year-old heard a door breaking on the 6th floor at night. Most residents claim not to know the victim. "We know very little about the people renting this apartment" – said one of the residents in an interview with the French newspaper.
