Zelensky: No official Trump peace plan, ready for Putin talks
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Donald Trump has not yet presented an official plan to end the war with Russia. He also emphasised that he is ready to engage in talks with Putin if they would lead to an end to the war.
- There is no official plan yet. What’s been published here and there... I am sure this is not the official plan of President Trump - Zelensky conveyed.
The Ukrainian president highlighted that there cannot be a plan developed without Ukraine's involvement, even if it concerns the United States. - We will wait for our official negotiations and official results - he added.
Zelensky expressed his readiness to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin, if it would lead to an end to the war. - Certainly, both the United States, President Trump, and the countries of the European Union believe that diplomacy is impossible without Russia, without Putin. And so I said: I am ready if we have an understanding of how this war will end - he explained.
Zelensky emphasised the importance of lasting peace with strong security guarantees, on which he is working with American partners. - However, we will continue working to ensure that this is a shared understanding and vision. Even if Russia doesn't like something, we need a common vision among our partners. After that, we are ready for diplomacy - he stressed.
New deliveries of military equipment
The President of Ukraine also confirmed the arrival of a new batch of F-16 multi-role aircraft, which were delivered on Wednesday. However, he did not disclose the number of French Mirage 2000-5 fighters that also reached Ukraine.
