Minecraft is a popular computer game created by the Swedish programmer Markus Persson (known as Notch) and developed by the company Mojang Studios. It was released in 2011 and has become one of the most iconic titles in the world of gaming.
The rules of Minecraft are very simple. You take on the role of one of many characters and traverse a blocky world. Depending on the mode, you can either test various blocks and create stunning structures without limitations caused by a lack of materials or try your hand at survival mode and acquire food and fight monsters.
The "Minecraft" movie is coming
Fans of the blocky world have finally got their wish. Soon, a feature-length live-action movie, "Minecraft", will hit cinemas. The international premiere of the production will take place on 2 April 2025. The film adaptation will feature stars like Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugen Hansen, and Emma Myers. A few days ago, the movie's creators released the first official trailer.
Did an "amateur" create a better trailer?
The internet is buzzing about a certain amateur animator operating under the pseudonym "Alumio_". This individual decided to take matters into their own hands and create an alternative trailer for the movie "Minecraft". In the original spot, real actors participated, and the blocky world looks quite different from the original. For this reason, Alumio_ assembled an animation based on actual frames from the game. The result was so outstanding that people admit it "looks better than the original." The short animation has garnered 11 million views and nearly 300,000 likes on the X platform.
