Michael Bay, known for directing the "Transformers" series, and former president of Paramount Pictures, Adam Goodman, have announced a new film and television production inspired by the popular internet phenomenon "Skibidi Toilet". In an exclusive interview for Variety magazine's "Strictly Business" podcast, Goodman confirmed that work on the project is already underway.

"Skibidi Toilet": From the internet to Hollywood

"Skibidi Toilet," known for its short, animated videos on YouTube and popular games on Roblox, has the chance to become a full-fledged film production thanks to its enormous popularity among younger generations. As Variety Intelligence Platform analysis shows, the number of "Skibidi Toilet" viewers on YouTube and Roblox is growing rapidly.

The story of "Skibidi Toilet" began on 7 February 2023, when Alexey Gerasimov, a young creator from Georgia, posted an 11-second video on his YouTube channel "DaFuq!?Boom!". The video, featuring a singing head emerging from a toilet, quickly gained massive popularity, becoming the start of a true cultural phenomenon.

Currently, "Skibidi Toilet" is a series of more than 70 videos depicting an ongoing battle between toilets and cyborgs. These videos are characterised by explosions, violence, and a lack of clear dialogue, which has attracted audiences worldwide and made "Skibidi Toilet" an icon of Alpha generation culture.

Michael Bay and his long-time collaborator, production designer Jeffrey Beecroft, are working closely with Gerasimov to professionalise the production and prepare it for a potential transition to the big and small screens. Goodman revealed they are considering a hybrid animation-live-action version styled after films like "John Wick" and "District 9".

Goodman compared the potential of "Skibidi Toilet" to the "Transformers" series and the Marvel universe. Licensed products related to this controversial brand will soon be available, highlighting its growing impact on pop culture.

Skibidi toilet as a cultural phenomenon

Thanks to Invisible Narratives' unconventional strategy of encouraging creators to create content based on "Skibidi Toilet," the brand is gaining even more popularity. Games inspired by "Skibidi Toilet" on Roblox, such as "Skibidi Toilet Tycoon" and "Skibidi Toilet Multiverse," are racking up millions of views in just a few months.

There is no doubt that "Skibidi Toilet" is a cultural phenomenon. We find fan art on Pinterest, fan gadgets on Etsy, and fan fiction on Wattpad. The popularity of "Skibidi Toilet" proves that internet content can become full-fledged film and television productions.

Will "Skibidi Toilet" succeed on the big screen? Time will tell, but one thing is certain: Michael Bay and Adam Goodman have ambitious plans for this bizarre brand's future.
