Melania Trump criticises Obamas for White House transition woes
In a recent interview, Melania Trump criticised the Obamas, whom she believes made their move to the White House in 2017 more difficult. "The first time was challenging. We didn't have much of the information. The information was upheld for us from the previous administration," the First Lady announced.
Melania Trump gave an interview to Fox News in which she revealed her plans for when she returns to the White House and recalled her previous stay in Washington, D.C. She admitted that this time she intends to spend much more time at the Washington residence. She also seized the opportunity to criticise the Trumps' predecessors, Barack and Michelle Obama.
The First Lady expects this time the move will be easier, as she now has experience and does not have to rely on her predecessors. This implied that she holds resentment towards the Obamas, who were responsible for providing information about the house and the transition process. According to Melania, Barack and Michelle failed to offer them such guidance.
The first time was challenging. We didn't have much of the information - said Melania in an interview with Fox News. The information was upheld for us from the previous administration. But this time, I have everything. I have plans I could move in. I already packed, I already selected the, you know, the furniture that needs to go in. So, it's very different.

Melania's clear spite towards the Obamas might be related to reports that Michelle decided to skip Trump's inauguration.
Melania's suggestion that Michelle and Barack did not give them a warm welcome when they moved into the White House in 2017 shouldn't come as a big surprise, considering the regrettable exchange of words when the Trumps arrived at the presidential residence on Donald’s inauguration day.
At that time, Melania gave Michelle a gift – a photo frame wrapped in a Tiffany blue box – however, Michelle only glanced at the gift with a sour expression before passing it to Barack, who handed it to a nearby aide.
According to Melania Trump, during her husband's previous presidency, she felt that "people might not have accepted her."
Maybe they didn't understand me the way. Maybe they do now. And I didn't have much support - she added.
In the opinion of the Slovenian, many people treated her at that time "only as the President's wife."
But I am standing on my own two feet. Independent. I have my own thoughts. I have my own yes and no. I don't always agree with what my husband is saying or doing, and that's okay - she emphasised.
Melania Trump plans to change the White House decor and combine her duties as First Lady with her roles as a mother and wife. She expressed hope for an an "exciting four years" and emphasised that her priority is serving the country. Donald Trump's inauguration will occur on 20 January.
