The individuals accused McDonald's of "discrimination, homophobia, racism, ableism and harassment," stated the Leigh Day law office in a statement. The case currently involves over 450 restaurants.

McDonald's sued by over 700 employees

McDonald’s employs over 170,000 people in the United Kingdom, most of whom are very young and hired based on civil contracts. Individuals under 20 years old at the time of the incidents can join the lawsuit, which was filed following a BBC investigation in July 2023.

The CEO of McDonald's in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Alistair Macrow, apologised on behalf of the group for the "clear shortfalls" in employee protection.

He also added that the company records one to two reports of sexual harassment by employees each week.
