Lactic acid: The unexpected hero in the battle against wrinkles

Wrinkles are the bane of many women. Skin sagging occurs due to the loss of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the skin. This is a natural phenomenon associated with ageing. Nevertheless, we want to eliminate them and look young for as long as possible. Are you already struggling with them, but nothing is effective? Try this, and you will be amazed by the results!

Lactic acid - the wrinkle slayer

You've probably heard about lactic acid at least once. It's no wonder, as it is a substance in our bodies. We also find it in many dairy products such as kefir and yoghurt and pickled or fermented products. Besides that, it works perfectly in the fight against wrinkles. It has moisturising, exfoliating, anti-ageing, brightening, cleansing, and anti-inflammatory properties. It also supports the production of ceramides and collagen, strengthening the skin. As you can see, it has a wide range of applications that positively affect the condition of our complexion.

Lactic acid is available in serum form, but it is also an ingredient in many skincare products such as peels, creams, gels, or toners. Moreover, it is suitable for every skin type. Choosing the right product or products containing it for your skin type is essential. It is often recommended for women who have noticed the first signs of ageing, as it significantly firms the skin and smooths out wrinkles. In this regard, it is truly reliable.

How to use it?

First, we should pay attention to the concentration of lactic acid in the product. Even the smallest concentration can produce effects. However, we must be careful with it because it can damage our epidermis in too high a concentration. It's best to start gradually with a concentration of 5–10% once a week and see how your skin responds. If there are no irritations, you can increase its strength and frequency over time. However, this should be done slowly, allowing the skin to adapt.

It's important not to use it too often, as its strong exfoliating properties can lead to the loss of our protective barrier and, in the worst cases, cause swelling, redness, or a rash. The concentration of this acid at home should not exceed 15%. It's best to use it during your evening routine after cleansing your face. Besides lactic acid, we can also choose cosmetics with its addition, which will be much milder.
