Biden stated in an interview with "USA Today" that if he had run in the November presidential election instead of Harris, he probably would have won. Harris lost to the Republican candidate Donald Trump, who will assume office next Monday, 20th January.

It's presumptuous to say that, but I think yes - he stated.

Harris is reportedly deeply disappointed by Biden's comments - reports "The Wall Street Journal", citing voices from Harris's entourage. Friends of the Vice President said that Biden's words are telling and are evidence of "one-sided loyalty" in their professional relationship.

A difficult period for Kamala Harris

The past weeks have been particularly challenging for Harris. Following the certification process of the election results, in which she played a formal role as chair, Harris was forced to cancel a planned international trip to support the government's efforts during the wildfires in California.

The Vice President also had to face personal difficulties, including an evacuation from her home in the Brentwood neighbourhood of Los Angeles due to the fire threat.

What's next for Kamala Harris? Plans for the future

Harris is reportedly considering running for Governor of California in 2026. After her term as Vice President, she also plans to focus on public speaking engagements and writing a book, which could help her maintain a strong position in politics.

Harris does not rule out running again in the presidential election in 2028.
