Kamala Harris breaks fundraising records with $1 billion in 80 days
The campaign team of Vice President Kamala Harris has raised over 1 billion dollars for her election campaign in just 80 days. This is likely the first time a presidential candidate has gathered such a large amount in such a short period, as reported by the "New York Times" on Wednesday.

The "New York Times," citing three sources familiar with the campaign's financial details, notes that the amount raised by Harris's team does not include funds collected by the so-called super PACs supporting the candidate.
A Super PAC is an electoral committee that does not give money directly to the candidate's campaign team but funds activities to support the campaign.
In 2024, Donald Trump raised around 680 million pounds. As the "NYT" reports, the Democratic team is concerned about significant sums being raised by super PACs supporting the Republican candidate.
Harris was officially announced as the Democratic candidate on 21 July, and in the first week, her campaign team raised 160 million pounds.
Elon Musk supports Trump
According to the "Wall Street Journal," Elon Musk has announced that he will contribute about 36 million pounds monthly to his new super PAC supporting Trump. Fox News reports that the billionaire offers a high hourly rate - 23 pounds - plus additional bonuses for individuals mobilising Republican voters.
