Charging a smartphone is a daily activity that most of us don't pay much attention to. After all, you just connect the cable, and you're set, right? However, it turns out that the way we charge our devices can significantly affect their lifespan and battery performance. So, what mistakes should we avoid?

How to charge your phone battery to extend its life?

Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives. Nearly half of the world's population uses them. They've replaced laptops, cameras, and even credit cards, becoming essential for us. Their biggest drawback is the need for regular charging, which many people do in ways that damage the battery.

Do you only plug in your phone when it's completely discharged? That's a common mistake that leads to battery deterioration. Long charges and rapid discharges often result from such habits. So, when should you charge your phone? Ideally, when the battery still has 20% charge left. Don't be afraid of frequent top-ups of a few percentage points—it will help extend battery life.

Are you one of those people who leave their phone charging just before going to sleep? That can harm the battery. Why? Because prolonged charging causes the battery to overheat, which quickly leads to wear and tear. To avoid this mistake, don't charge your phone overnight. Also, place it on a flat and cool surface to prevent it from heating up.

Smartphone takes too long to charge? The reason may be obvious

Most phones are equipped with a USB port, and "C" type chargers are currently the most commonly used. Although they are universal, they can cause problems. Always use original chargers that are best suited for your device. If they're unavailable, choose high-quality cables. Avoid cheap substitutes, which can negatively affect the battery.

Your smartphone isn't responding to the charger? The problem may be a dirty USB port. It requires regular cleaning. A thin needle is all you need to gently remove dirt. By following these simple tips, you can improve your phone's battery performance.
