Ukraine investigates North Korean troops aiding Russia in war
The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine announced on Friday the start of an investigation to determine whether North Korea's support for Russia in the war constitutes an act of aggression. The day before, Ukrainian intelligence reported that the first soldiers from North Korea had already been deployed to the Kursk region in western Russia.

"By arming and supplying ground forces engaged in fighting against Ukraine, North Korean officials could face charges," said representatives of the prosecutor's office during a conversation with Reuters, adding that the office has already begun gathering evidence in this case.
On 24th October, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) announced that the first soldiers from North Korea had already been deployed, after training in Russia, to the Kursk region in the west of the country. Since the 6th of August, Ukrainian troops have been operating in this region.
Kim's soldiers support Russia
According to South Korean intelligence, North Korea has sent approximately 3,000 soldiers to the Russian Far East, and by the end of the year, this number is expected to increase to roughly 10,000. The USA and some EU countries, including Poland and the Netherlands have confirmed these findings.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, warned that sending North Korean soldiers to the front would be "the first step to a world war" and called on the West for a decisive response.
Meanwhile, NATO warned that if North Korean soldiers join Russian forces in Ukraine, this could mean an escalation of the war.
