Julia Nawalna vows to uphold the legacy of her late husband, Aleksei Navalny
Julia Nawalna announced that she plans to continue the work of her husband. Over 40 days have passed since his death, and the widow regularly shares memories on social media. She also recently shared a photo of Navalny's grave.
Aleksei Navalny was one of the leading Russian opposition figures. For many years, he criticised Vladimir Putin, for which he faced repression from the authorities. On 15 February 2024, it was reported globally that Navalny had died in a penal colony with a strict regime, where he was placed after the last court sentence.
The prison authorities stated at the time that he collapsed after a walk and - despite resuscitation - died. Later, the Russian TV RT reported that Navalny's death was caused by "a blood clot detachment", but not everyone believed this information. The oppositionist was buried on 1 March of this year at the Borisov Cemetery in Moscow, and his funeral drew crowds of Russians.
Nawalna shared a photo of her husband's grave
Nawalny's wife - Julia - announced in a recording posted on social media that she plans to continue her husband's work. "I will continue to fight for our country and call on you to stand by me," she said a few weeks ago.
The woman regularly remembers her deceased husband on social media, and recently, in her Instagram story, a photo of Navalny's grave appeared. Also, a few days ago, she shared on the platform X a photo of her husband's grave taken on 19 March of this year. It is evident that Russians still lay flowers there. There are so many that the monument is practically invisible.
Nawalna celebrated her son's birthday. She added a family photograph
Julia Nawalna also shared a family photograph, showing her walking with her husband and children. The photo was shared on the occasion of her son's 16th birthday.
"Happy birthday, little one. You are a great joy, pride, and love. You are the most intelligent, responsible, and resilient. And you joke around, like your father. Be happy, please, no matter what. I love you so much," she wrote on Instagram.
