Julia Navalnaya vows to continue husband's fight, garnering global support amid grieving
Alexei Navalny, known for his years of criticism towards Vladimir Putin and his affiliates, sadly passed away on 16 February at a penal colony renowned for its strict discipline. Russian media has reported on the reasons for his death but the veracity of these explanations has been widely questioned by experts.
Many worldwide are now focusing on the bereaved family, particularly his wife, Julia. Just a few days ago, she pledged to carry on her late husband's work. "I will continue to fight for our country and I ask you all to stand with me," she stated in a social media post.
Julia Navalnaya's message to her daughter
There is also significant interest in Navalny's daughter, Dasha, who was known to accompany her parents at official meetings frequently. The 23-year-old student has openly criticised Putin, standing firmly alongside her father in their opposition.
In her most recent post, Julia Navalnaya addressed her daughter.
"My sweet little girl, I flew in to hug and support you, yet you're the one providing me support," Julia Navalnaya wrote.
"So strong, brave, and resilient. We will surely overcome all of this, my dear. It’s comforting to have you by my side. I love you," she continued, attaching a shared photo of them both.
