The Assembly of States Parties to the ICC announced in a communiqué that an external investigation is underway to guarantee an independent, impartial, and fair process, calling on all involved parties to fully cooperate.
Khan assured that despite the allegations, he continues to focus on conducting investigations related to alleged war crimes, including the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Matters concerning him will be managed by deputy prosecutors.
Khan denies the accusations. He speaks of a disinformation campaign
Khan denied allegations of misconduct reported by ICC bodies. He then called for an investigation into the matter. He emphasised that accusations of coercing an assistant into sexual acts are part of a disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting his office.
ICC judges are considering Khan's May request to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leaders.
