Clean and shiny panels are the hallmark of a well-maintained home. Unfortunately, they inevitably become dull over time, which, though unwelcome, is a natural process. Sooner or later, this will affect your floor panels. Therefore, caring for them using appropriate products and techniques is essential.
What to do to keep panels from becoming dull?
Installing floor panels is a significant expense that anyone who has completed an interior renovation has encountered. After some time, the shiny floor may be dull, and standard cleaning methods may not deliver the desired results. Dulling of panels is a natural process because their surface is constantly exposed to abrasion. To make the floor shiny again, appropriate care must be taken.
Many floor cleaning products are available in stores but can be costly. The cheaper ones may not suffice to achieve the desired effect. Before spending money on expensive products, it is worth trying homemade methods that can be just as effective. All the ingredients for making your own cleaning agent can be found in the kitchen cupboard.
How to restore the shine to floor panels?
Panels can be compared to skin, which, when dry, becomes dull and wrinkled. Moisturising products are needed to restore its former appearance. The same goes for panels – after some time, they need lubricating to regain their shine. To prepare a homemade solution, you need 17 fl oz of cold water, 3 fl oz of vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix all the ingredients and set aside for a moment.
Before applying the mixture, thoroughly vacuum and clean the floor in your usual way to remove dust and dirt. This will allow the polishing agent to cover the panel surface effectively. It is best to pour the mixture into a spray bottle, then spray the floor piece by piece, wiping it with a soft microfibre cloth. For a few hours, the smell of vinegar may be noticeable so that you can add a few drops of essential oil to the homemade detergent.
