Houseplants that boost your sleep: Jasmine to lavender
Some houseplants can serve not only a decorative function. A few of them support... our sleep. What is worth placing on the bedroom windowsill?
Appropriately chosen houseplants in the bedroom can contribute to improving the quality of sleep. It has long been known that some species have the ability to purify and humidify the air, which promotes relaxation and makes it easier to fall asleep.
Healthy sleep? Place these plants in the bedroom
Jasmine
This beautiful climber with small flowers has surprising properties. It emits a sweet fragrance, which is used in the production of essential oils, among other things. Placing a jasmine plant in the bedroom will help us fall asleep faster. Remember to place the pot in a bright spot but away from direct sunlight. Also, keep the soil and air moist to fully utilise the plant's properties. Jasmine is believed to improve our well-being, calm us, and alleviate anxiety.
Lavender
Lavender cannot be missed from the list, as it's probably the first that comes to mind when we think of plants with calming properties. The scent of lavender relaxes us, lowers blood pressure, and reduces stress. Keep a pot of lavender on a sunny windowsill. Water regularly but sparingly.
Snake plant
The snake plant, also known as sansevieria, positively impacts our well-being. This is because it cleanses the air of toxins and regulates its humidity. At night, the "mother-in-law's tongues" release oxygen, which they convert from carbon dioxide.
Peace lily
It's worth noting the properties of the peace lily. This houseplant also purifies the air and increases humidity in the room. These are very important factors that promote good sleep. Peace lilies, as they are commonly called, can comfortably stand in a less sunny part of the bedroom - slightly shaded places are not a problem for them. However, ensure proper watering and provide water once a week.
Areca palm
Finally, good news for fans of the areca palm - it's another houseplant that positively affects the quality of our sleep. Similar to the peace lily, the areca palm increases air humidity, which makes breathing easier. For this plant, remember that the minimum recommended temperature for its cultivation is about 18°C.
