Crispy curd cheese waffles
Curd cheese waffles are not merely a tasty snack but also a healthy alternative to traditional waffles. By using curd cheese, egg whites, and fruits, they become a rich source of protein, vitamins, and minerals. You can replace sugar with xylitol or erythritol.
Curd cheese is a good source of protein, which is essential for building and repairing tissues. It helps keep you feeling fuller for longer. Curd cheese also contains calcium, which is important for healthy bones and teeth.
Raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries are true vitamin powerhouses. They are rich in antioxidants that protect cells from damage and fibre, which enhances the digestive system's function. Agave syrup is a natural sweetener that contains fewer calories than traditional sugar.
Ingredients:
- 200g of low-fat curd cheese,
- 2 egg whites,
- 2 eggs,
- 2 tablespoons of sugar,
- 100g of plain flour.
Decoration:
- raspberries,
- blueberries,
- strawberries,
- agave syrup,
- mint leaves.
Instructions:
Step 1. Place the low-fat curd cheese in a bowl, and add the eggs, egg whites, sugar, and plain flour. Mix the batter thoroughly, mashing the curd cheese well.
Step 2. Place portions of the batter on a preheated waffle iron. Bake until they are crispy and golden. The baking time depends on the power of the device. After baking, set the waffles on a rack – this will help them retain their crispness.
Step 3. Serve the ready waffles with fresh fruits and agave syrup. You may also opt for other favourite toppings, such as bananas with peanut butter, pomegranate seeds, mango, or chocolate. Enjoy!
