George Clooney's prank on Cruise and Streep: Hollywood hijinks revealed
When you're a Hollywood actor, many things are forgiven. The "Mission Impossible" star probably doesn't hold it against him for making fun of him. But did Meryl Streep also forgive Clooney for the joke?

In a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, the actor revealed how cleverly he tricked Tom Cruise by pretending to be his friend Brad Pitt. George Clooney once had fake stationery supposedly belonging to Pitt, with all the papers signed with his name. Clooney used this to send several malicious letters to Cruise, which he considered "brutal".
Clooney mocked Cruise, with "Interview with the Vampire" in the background
In one of the letters, Clooney suggested that Pitt and Cruise should make a sequel to the 1994 film "Interview with the Vampire", but this time they would swap roles. Brad Pitt played Louis in the film, and Tom Cruise played Lestat. "I sent it to Tom Cruise, saying they want to do ['Interview with the Vampire 2'], but this time Brad wants to play Lestat," George revealed, laughing. Jimmy Kimmel, listening to the story, laughed and confirmed:
"Brad this afternoon said that Tom called him and said, 'Yeah, it's cool, you can play Lestat, that's fine, I'm OK with that,' and he was like, 'What are you talking about?'"
The star of "Ocean's Eleven" and "Batman" also admitted that he similarly tricked Meryl Streep. Pretending to be Brad Pitt, he sent her a CD with lessons on various accents, with a message on the attached stationery: "This guy helped me with my accent in Troy and I think it could really help you."
"The Brad Pitt joke" is not the only trick in Clooney's repertoire. He also had stationery supposedly belonging to Bill Clinton.
"Every actor I know I've sent a letter from Bill Clinton," he explained.
George Clooney's latest production, which he is now heavily promoting, is the film "Wolfs", which will premiere on Apple TV+ on 27 September.
