France announced that seven more mobile military units will soon arrive in New Caledonia as reinforcements. This will bring the total to around 3,500 military personnel. Macron announced that the police and gendarmerie units deployed in New Caledonia will remain as long as necessary, including during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. In two weeks of riots sparked by the contested electoral reform and fueled by sharp economic disparities between the indigenous Kanak population and people of European descent, seven people have died, hundreds have been arrested, and numerous buildings and cars have been destroyed.

During the night, the Ukrainian army once again carried out a successful operation on the territory of the Russian Federation. Ukrainian drones struck an oil depot in the town of Livny in the Oryol region, causing a fire.
