Fire engulfs 1,000 square metres at Tula military hospital

A fire broke out at a military hospital in Tula, affecting approximately 1,000 square metres.

The fire started on the third floor of the 39th Separate Medical Unit of the Airborne Forces building just after 12 PM Greenwich Mean Time. Fifty-seven people were evacuated from the hospital, including conscripts who were receiving treatment.

No one was killed or injured.

According to media reports, the fire spread to the roof. Overall, about 1,000 square metres were impacted by the fire.

Preliminary information from the authorities suggests that the cause of the fire was a short circuit in an electrical installation.
