Explosions and drones attack rock fuel depot in Engels
On the night from Monday to Tuesday, explosions were heard in the sky over Engels in the Saratov region of Russia. A fuel depot, burning for several days, was shelled once again.
At around 3:00 am GMT, witnesses heard several explosions in the city. Regional Governor Roman Busargin reported that the drone attack caused damage to an industrial enterprise in Engels.
"As a result of the UAV attack, there was damage at an industrial enterprise in Engels. Emergency and operational services are working in extended mode," he reported.
This is where the Russian strategic aviation base is located, which has previously been attacked multiple times by Ukrainians.
Rescue services are operating at the site. Earlier, witnesses reported plumes of smoke rising.
Due to the attack, temporary restrictions on incoming and departing flights were introduced at airports in Kazan, Kaluga, Saratov, and Tambov.
The warehouse has been burning for several days
The warehouse has been burning since 8th January. The regional governor admitted that "drone debris damaged one of the enterprises in the city of Engels." This is where the Russian strategic aviation base is located, which has previously been attacked multiple times by Ukrainians.
