Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.

On the evening of 13 January, Russian authorities reported "mass attacks" on several regions of the country. Explosions took place in Bryansk, Belgorod, and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

In the Bryansk region, residents reported explosions near the 50th Anniversary of the USSR chemical plant in the town of Selco. This plant produces explosives for Russian defence orders and belongs to the "Techmash" holding.

The head of the Press Centre of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Andrij Kovalenko, also published a video of the explosion in Bryansk, writing: "Bryansk roars."

The governor of the Bryansk region stated that Russian air defence forces detected and destroyed an aeroplane-type drone over the region. There are no casualties or destruction. Operational and rescue services are working on site," he added.

Warnings in other regions

Moreover, in the Bryansk and Oryol regions, a missile threat warning was announced. In the Belgorod region, Russian authorities initially reported the "shooting down of missiles" by air defence forces and later about a drone attack.

Meanwhile, on the temporarily occupied Crimea, an air alert was announced, lasting almost an hour. Russian media also reported an "attack on the Crimean Bridge," which temporarily halted traffic on the bridge. Later, reports of a drone attack emerged.
