Information about the fire was shared on Telegram and the X platform. The photos and videos show columns of black smoke over the KAMAZ plant in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan.
The Telegram channel Crimean Wind highlights that the company is the main supplier of automotive equipment for the Russian army.
The KAMAZ company manufactures diesel trucks and diesel engines. This conglomerate is on the sanction lists of the United States, the European Union, Canada, and the United Kingdom, a decision made following the Russian army's attack on Ukraine in 2022.
Recently, the Ukrainian military has targeted other facilities in Tatarstan. These include a factory in Yelabuga that produced Iranian Shahed drones, which the Russians call Geran-2, and a refinery in Nizhnekamsk.
